Tide

Terms of service

Effective August 14, 2026

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of Tide, the service available at trytide.vercel.app and through its Slack, Discord, and GitHub integrations (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms on your own behalf and, if you act for an organization, on that organization’s behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Tide does

Tide runs AI coding agents against repositories you approve. Agents read your request, propose a plan, and, after a person approves that plan, implement changes in an isolated sandbox, review them, and open a pull request. Tide produces proposals; your team reviews and decides. Unless your workspace explicitly enables Tide-managed merging, a person merges every change.

3. Accounts

Sign-in is passwordless, through email magic links and passkeys. You are responsible for the security of your email account and passkey devices, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.

4. Workspaces and roles

Work happens inside workspaces. Workspace owners and admins control membership, roles, repository approvals, budgets, and integrations. Actions taken from connected chat surfaces are authorized only for chat identities linked to a current workspace member; unlinked participants can discuss work but cannot change it.

5. Your content and repositories

You retain all rights to your repositories, requests, messages, and the changes Tide produces for you. You grant Tide the limited rights needed to operate the Service: reading approved repositories, processing your requests and thread messages, generating and storing proposed changes, and publishing branches and pull requests you direct it to publish. Tide never modifies GitHub workflow files and only accesses repositories your workspace has approved.

6. AI output

Machine-generated code can be wrong, insecure, or unsuitable. Tide structures the work so a person approves the plan and reviews the result, and you are responsible for that review before any change reaches your codebase or production. Tide makes no warranty that generated changes are correct, complete, or fit for any purpose.

7. Third-party services and models

The Service interoperates with GitHub, Slack, Discord, and model providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI. Your use of those services remains governed by their own terms. If you connect a personal model subscription (for example ChatGPT or Grok) or bring your own API keys, you are responsible for complying with that provider’s terms, and those credentials are used only to run your workspace’s tasks.

8. Plans, credits, and payment

  • The Pro plan is billed per seat, monthly, at the price shown at purchase. Enterprise plans are agreed separately.
  • Model, sandbox, and orchestration usage is metered against your workspace’s credit balance. Credits come from plan grants and top-ups; top-ups are available between $10 and $10,000.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Credits are not redeemable for cash and are non-refundable except where required by law.
  • Task budgets are hard spending caps, not promises of completion: work pauses before a cap is crossed.
  • Prices can change with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

9. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to violate law, infringe others’ rights, develop or distribute malware, attack or probe systems you do not own, circumvent the Service’s isolation or spending controls, or resell access without an agreement. Tide may suspend use that threatens the Service or other customers.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your workspace at any time. Tide can suspend or end access for breach of these terms, legal necessity, or non-payment, with notice where practical. On workspace deletion, customer content is removed on the schedule described in the privacy policy.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tide is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, or data, and Tide’s total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Changes to these terms

Tide may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or in the product at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
